WHAT IS IT?
Website Music Player is a service that enables you to sell your music online through a variety of websites at the same time. For example you can sell from your own website and social networking profiles/pages. You remain in complete control of your songs and retain of all the rights associated with your music.
You get a Flash MP3 Player widget that contains your music playlist(s). Anyone with a credit card or Paypal® account can buy your music directly from the music player. The money from each song or beat sold goes straight to you and is put directly into your Paypal account. (Paypal is a free and secure online bank account that is quick to set and gives you the ability to accept instant credit cards payments for your music.)
HOW DOES IT WORK?
At any time while listening to your music, your fans and customers can select individual songs or full albums that they want to buy. They click the 'Click Here To Order' (or your own custom text) button that is prominently displayed on the bottom of your player and an order summary page will open in a new window.
On this new page, they click the 'Proceed To Checkout' button and will be brought to a payment screen where they can either pay by credit card or use their existing Paypal® funds. This money is instantly deposited into your Paypal® account.
After successful payment, the customer is directed to a download page that contains only the songs that they've paid for. These protected download links are also emailed to the customer.
The customer is only allowed to download each song a set number of times (determined by you in your settings), after which the download links expire and delete themselves to prevent them from being shared.
GETTING STARTED
You don’t need any kind of programming knowledge to make your music player appear on websites, blogs or other pages. A small bit of copy and paste code is generated for you in your members area. All you need to do is paste this code into the html source code of any web page you want the player to show up in. Most social networking sites provide you with an area that you can paste this code into in order to make the player widget show up.
ADDING SONGS
Loading songs into your player is easy and there's no technical knowledge required. The built-in song uploading interface allows you to add multiple songs at once by easily selecting songs on your computer. You see the real time progress of each song being uploaded and all the sites that your player appears on will be instantly updated with your new songs.
SETTING PLAYLIST ORDER
Setting the order that your songs appear in the playlist is simple. All you need to do is press the up or down button beside each song and all sites that your player appears on will be updated.
CREATING PREVIEW CLIPS
Creating clips is useful to protect your music and allows listeners hear only a certain portion of your song. Clips let you to set a starting point and duration of song and the system creates the clips and replace the full song in the playlist with the shortened version. When a customer orders, the full song is delivered after purchase.
You can also upload your own custom clips and associate them to full songs. For example, you can upload a LowFi or watermarked clip and deliver a HiFi, unwatermarked song.
CUSTOMIZING PLAYER COLOR
Each time you add the player to a different website, you can customize the color scheme to match that particular site. You can create, save, edit and delete multiple custom color schemes. You can select the color from a color picker interface or enter the exact color value. You can also edit the order button text at the bottom of the player in addition to the optional music licensing button that is provided by LicenseQuote.com.
SETTING CURRENCY AND PRICE
You can set the price of your songs and choose from many differnt currencies. The currency change takes place immediately so you can be selling in USD one minute and Euro the next.
TRACKING PERFORMANCE
Easily view the performance of each song from your stats tracking area. Each time a song is either played or sold, this is tracked and the system will automatically calculate useful statistics for you, like the sales conversion ratio (the percentage of songs sold vs. total plays) and sales total for each song.
SETTING DOWNLOAD LIMITS
When your customers order songs, they're brought to an area where they can download your songs by clicking an encrypted download link. The encrypted link protects against people sharing this download link. Website Music Player also allows you to set how many times each customer is allowed to download each song. After they have reached the limit, they will be shown a message telling them that they have reached their download limit for this song and the link won’t work anymore.
MONITORING SALES
Each time a song is sold, you can see who bought the song, their email address and the time and date of purchase. The buyer's email address is recorded in case you want to contact them, add them to a customer list or let them know about an upcoming show. You can also export this data to Excel.
PAYPAL TRANSACTIONS
Using Paypal's free Micropayments® account option, Paypal will deduct 5% + $0.05 per transaction. For example if you sell 12 tracks for $0.99 each, the total would be $11.88. They would deduct $0.64 from this total amount and you would get to keep $11.24 (which works out to be 94.6% of the profit). Find out more about Paypal's Micropayments® by clicking here.

OPTIONALLY HAVE FANS SELL YOUR MUSIC
The way this works is, when you have a platinum membership, you can allow people to sign up under you as your affiliate. When they log in, they can copy your player code and paste it into any of their websites. Your player and playlist will show up on their sites and their visitors can buy your songs. All these sales are tracked so you know who sold what. (Please note that this affiliate system does not work with Facebook).
Affiliates do not get access to your songs. They're only allowed to place a small bit of copy and paste code in their websites that makes it so your music player shows up and your songs can be sold.
You stay in full control of everything. You decide which songs appear and the price they're sold. All the money goes straight to you and then you decide how big a cut your affiliates get. You also decide when and how to pay them.
SET COMMISSION
The commission your affiliate gets from each sale is completely up to you. It's simple to set whatever percentage you want to give.
TRACK AFFILIATES
You can see the full name, email, Paypal email and sales total for each of your affiliates. You have all their information if you decide to contact or interact with them.
TRACK AFFILIATE PAYOUTS AND BALANCES
You can see how much affiliates are owed in your members area. After you pay them via Paypal (or any other way you arrange with them), you can keep track of what you just paid each affiliate.
